With over 20 years of consistent leadership in the CO₂ verification market, EMICERT S.A. enters a new era in its corporate journey, joining the international CTI Group (Center Testing International Group Co., Ltd), which will acquire a 51% majority stake in the company.
CTI Group is a global leader in the Testing–Inspection–Certification (TIC) sector and the first publicly listed TIC company in China. Headquartered in Shenzhen, the Group employs more than 13,000 people across 260 branches and 160 laboratories worldwide, serving over 100,000 clients across all key industries. CTI issues over 4 million reports annually and holds an extensive range of accreditations and recognitions from authorities including the EU, USA, and UK, among others.
By joining CTI Group, EMICERT aims to expand its international footprint, gaining access to new markets for high-impact verification services such as CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), EU ETS (Emissions Trading System), and Carbon Footprint. This strategic move also enriches EMICERT’s current service portfolio by integrating CTI’s broad set of sustainability-related accreditations. At the same time, it represents an important expansion for CTI into existing and emerging European markets.
Kostas Antoniadis, Managing Partner of EMICERT, commented on the collaboration:
“We are proud to be entering a strategic partnership that acknowledges our deep expertise and the high quality of our services in the field of CO₂ emissions verification. CTI Group is a globally respected one-stop TIC provider, whose global presence unlocks new international opportunities for us, further reinforcing our solid 20-year track record in sustainability-focused services.”
Mr. Antoniadis will remain in both the Management and Shareholding structure of EMICERT and will continue to lead the company’s operations.
Richard Shentu, CEO of CTI Group, expressed his strong expectations for the partnership:
“Acquiring a majority stake in EMICERT marks an important step in CTI’s strategy to strengthen our presence in the EU’s sustainable development market. EMICERT’s specialized expertise in GHG emissions verification within the EU ideally complements our own capabilities, particularly in areas such as the EU ETS and CBAM. This will allow us to deliver more accurate and efficient dual-carbon solutions to clients worldwide and support their compliance with increasingly rigorous EU sustainability regulations.”
