EmiCert, the only specialized Greek Verification Body for Greenhouse Gas Emissions, celebrates 20 years of leading presence in the CO₂ verification market.
Since 2005, the company has charted a dynamic course both in Greece and abroad, with operations spanning 10 countries. It holds a leading market position in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Ireland. Over these two decades, EmiCert has issued more than 6,000 verification statements for emissions exceeding 400 million tons of CO₂ — corresponding to a total value of nearly $10 billion.
EmiCert is a reliable partner for critical sectors such as Industry, Aviation, and Shipping, responsibly guiding companies on their sustainability journey. As an industry pioneer, it was the first organization worldwide to be accredited as an EU Shipping MRV Verifier. It also consistently remains the first Verification Body in Greece to be accredited under each new standard related to climate change and sustainability (e.g., ETS AVIATION, CORSIA, ISO 14064-1, 14064-2, 14067, 14068, etc.).
To mark this 20-year milestone, EmiCert hosted a carbon-neutral event on Thursday, June 19, at Ploes venue, attended by numerous partners and friends from Greece and abroad, as well as institutional representatives of the sector.
In his speech, EmiCert founder Mr. Kostas Antoniadis stated:
“We dare say that throughout these 20 years, we were pioneers in this field, significantly shaping the sustainability certification sector in Greece — a sector that has now become one of the most rapidly growing and impactful areas in certification.”
Co-founder Mr. Apostolos Siskos added:
“We made it this far because we were agile, close to our clients, always following developments, investing in expertise, and making decisions quickly. The future holds exciting opportunities for EmiCert, with new services, new accreditations, and new partnerships that will open doors to new markets across Europe and beyond.”
